Spitzer Issues Hartford New Subpoena Annuity-WC
Reuters September 17, 2005 On September 16 the Hartford Financial Services Group said it had received a subpoena from New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer’s office for information about its variable-annuity product sales and exchange practices and about its reporting of workers compensation premiums. The Hartford has already been the subject of several subpoenas and requests for information from state and federal regulators regarding its insurance, annuities and mutual funds. The insurer said it was cooperating with the request.
